Lancaster County is located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. According to a 2005 census, the population is estimated at 490,562. Lancaster County is most well known for its high population of Amish residents. Another interesting fact is that residents of Lancaster, PA are well known for the way they pronounce it. Locals pronounce it LANK-ister. Outsiders pronounce it Lanc-ast-er.
