Parks and Trails Mission Statement

To serve as stewards for resource management by providing the design, development, maintenance, and patrol of all Douglas County local and regional parks and regional trail systems. 

Future plans include:

1. Final completion of the southern most section of the Cherry Creek Regional Trail and local linkages to this spine trail
2. Construct additional portions of the trail on the East-West Regional Trail
3. On-going development of safe and accessible, on-road bicycle lanes
4. Improvements will be made to existing parks as determined by staff and the Parks Advisory Board
5. Additional fields, upgrades to existing fields, and services are planned for select regional parks
