Welcome to Wallowa Lake State Park!

Wallowa Lake State Park

Wallowa Lake State Park is located along the shore of  Wallowa Lake  in the heart of  Eastern Oregon's  scenic Wallowa Mountains,  known as the Switzerland of America, with mountains rising 9,000 feet. The camping area provides 89 tent campsites, 121 trailer spaces with utility hookups, 1 cabin, 2 yurts, and 3 group tent camping areas.  Mountain climbing, hiking, horseback riding, parasailing, camping, nature study, fishing, and boating are popular activities.  The park offers a marina with a reservable boat moorage. Wildlife is abundant in the area.

Visitors can rent one of the park's two wooden-sided yurts. Each of the circular, domed structures has a carpeted floor, lockable wooden door, lights, heating and beds. If you prefer something larger, rent the park's two-story, 900-square-foot cabin just outside the campground. Its six rooms can accommodate eight overnight guests.

There are gift shops nearby and a thriving artist community which does world-class bronze castings. Tours are available through the foundries and the showroom displays (they'll keep you interested for hours). Wallowa Lake also serves as a gateway to visit Hells Canyon, the deepest gorge in North America. There are activities for everyone in the family.
Vital stats: The campground provides 121 full hookup campsites, and 89 tent sites  (maximum size 90 feet). In addition, the two yurts and the cabin are available for overnight stays. The day-use area and boat ramp open at 6 am. each day.  Most campsites close for the winter, but four sites stay open (with no water service), and the yurts are available all year.

The park is managed by Oregon State Parks and is located at 72214 Marina Lane, Joseph, OR 97846, Phone: 541-432-4185.
